Hello all,
Welcome to the English 102 Pop Culture Blog! Over the course of the next few months, we will be analyzing select subjects in natural, social sciences, and the humanities through the lens of pop culture. Although we come from varying and unique perspectives, we find commonality in our desire to utilize the many different multimedia options that are readily available at our fingertips.We come from the perspective of individuals obsessed with different ways of obtaining information through the media. Whether it be film, music, or broadcast, we want the reader to feel that they have options in obtaining information. At its core, Pop Culture is interactive. Gone are the days of passive media and lmited options of obtaining information. We live in a world where the options are boundless. As such, we are capable (and plan on) presenting to you, the reader, various outlets of media to interact with and analyze.
For example, check out the "Introduction" tab, where I (Austin Hurwitz) posted a UStream vid and my fellow authors used various forms of writing and photography. Enjoy!
